Jason Lee is Co-Chairman of Brilliant since 2020. Prior to Brilliant, he was the Asia Real Estate Head and Partner of Carlyle. Jason launched Carlyle’s Asia real estate investment activities in 2001. Prior to starting the Asia real estate team, Jason was a Principal with Carlyle Realty in Washington, DC. He joined Carlyle in 1996 and has been involved in the acquisition of several billion dollars of real estate assets through Carlyle Realty Partners I, LP, Carlyle Realty Partners II, LP. and the Carlyle Asia Real Estate funds. Prior to Carlyle, Jason worked for the O’Connor Group in New York as an Associate for The Argo Partnerships, two opportunistic real estate investment funds in partnership with JP Morgan. Prior to O’Connor, he worked for Disney Development Company, the real estate arm of The Walt Disney Company, in California as a Senior Development Analyst. Jason received a BS in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Han Chen is Co-Chairman of Brilliant since 2020. He is also the Chairman of Ascent Real Estate Investors (“ARE”), a spin-off of Carlyle’s China real estate business, since ARE’s inception in 2019. Prior to ARE, Han was the Head of Carlyle’s China real estate business since 2004 and a Partner of Carlyle. During his tenure at Carlyle, Han designed and implemented Carlyle’s real estate investment strategies in China and completed several billion dollars of transactions. Under Han’s leadership, Carlyle invested in all major property sectors in China including office, logistics, retail, residential and mixed-use assets. Han was a board member of Kaisa Group Holdings during 2007-2009. Prior to Carlyle, Han was the General Manager of Global Servicing Solutions, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch focused on non-performing loan and real estate investments in China. Prior to that, he worked as an M&A Associate at Deutsche Bank. Han received his MBA from the University of Chicago, his Master of Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and his Bachelor of Arts from Beijing Institute of International Relations.

Jason Hsu is CEO of Brilliant since 2020. He was a Director at Ascent Real Estate Investors (“ARE”) prior to Brilliant. Prior to ARE, Jason was a Director at Carlyle as a key senior member of its China real estate team. He joined Carlyle in 2011 and has been primarily responsible for Carlyle’s logistics real estate investment strategy in China since the strategy’s inception, starting with Carlyle’s joint venture with Shanghai Yupei Group in 2013. Prior to Carlyle, Jason was an Associate in the real estate investment team at Asia Pacific Land in China. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong. Jason received an MBA from Cornell University and a BS in Engineering from the University of Toronto.
