Brilliant builds warehouses designed with sustainability in mind from the start. Most of the warehouses we manage are being designed and built using EDGE, a tool developed by the International Finance Corporation, that enables us to identify potential green elements in building designs quickly and early in the process. EDGE solutions help Brilliant model how construction factors such as building orientation, materials, and energy-efficient lighting can help reduce costs and climate change impact, while factoring in local market conditions to provide cost-benefit data on specific green building features.
Another signature of many of our warehouses is the readiness to mount rooftop solar panels. By working with solar energy operators, we are able to simultaneously reduce our properties’ carbon footprint and generate incremental income. We believe renewable energy will become increasingly important in our society’s future and have elected to prepare for such change in advance.
