In addition to being a maturing logistics satellite market of Shenzhen, where logistics/industrial land is extremely scarce, Huizhou is an electronics manufacturing hub as well as a world-class and green integrated oil refinery and petrochemical base. Huizhou’s economy was historically driven by the pillar industries of petrochemicals and electronics, but benefiting from substantial infrastructure investment in advanced manufacturing services and transportation, Huizhou has speeded up its development of modern industries, such as modern logistics, electric vehicle (EV), equipment manufacturing and clean energy. Notable world-class enterprises headquartered in Huizhou include TCL, a major consumer electronics company and BYD, a world leading EV and battery manufacturer.
